Omni Quality Living Celebrates OLTCA Community Engagement Day Across Ontario

At Omni Quality Living, building strong connections within our communities is fundamental to who we are. On September 18, our homes across Ontario proudly participated in Long-Term Care Community Engagement Day, an annual initiative led by the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) that brings residents, families, staff, volunteers, community organizations, and local leaders together to celebrate the important role long-term care homes play within their communities.

This year, 24 Omni homes opened their doors to welcome guests through a variety of engaging events, including community BBQs, open houses, garden parties, concerts, car shows, vendor markets, resident celebrations, and special ceremonies. These events showcased the vibrant, resident-centered environments that make each Omni home unique while creating meaningful opportunities for connection and collaboration.

Community Engagement Day serves as a reminder that long-term care homes are more than healthcare settings. They are active community hubs where relationships flourish, memories are created, and residents continue to live purposeful and fulfilling lives. By welcoming members of the public into our homes, we help strengthen understanding of long-term care and foster relationships that benefit residents and communities alike.

Throughout the day, many homes were honoured to welcome local elected officials, municipal representatives, healthcare partners, community organizations, OLTCA representatives, family members, volunteers, and members of the Omni Home Office team. Their participation highlights the shared commitment to supporting seniors and ensuring vibrant, connected communities across Ontario.

Among the many celebrations held across the province:

  • Burnbrae Gardens welcomed guests for a Community BBQ and Car Show.
  • Richmond Terrace unveiled its “The Journey of Life” community mural during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
  • Bear Creek Terrace hosted its Walk, Rock and Roll for Parkinson’s event, bringing residents and community members together in support of an important cause.
  • Rosebridge Manor featured a Community Vendor Market showcasing local businesses and community partners.
  • Forest Hill and Village Green opened their doors for guided tours, offering visitors an inside look at daily life within long-term care.
  • Kentwood Park, Maplewood, and West Lake Terrace joined together for a regional lunch and live music celebration.
  • Homes across the organization hosted BBQs, open houses, concerts, and community socials that welcomed hundreds of visitors into our communities.

Events such as these reflect Omni’s commitment to creating meaningful partnerships and fostering engagement beyond the walls of our homes. Whether through volunteer programs, educational partnerships, fundraising initiatives, local business collaborations, or community events, we believe that strong relationships enrich the lives of residents and strengthen the communities we serve.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us, including residents, families, staff, volunteers, community partners, local government representatives, OLTCA team members, and members of our corporate team. Your presence helped make Community Engagement Day a tremendous success.

As we look ahead, Omni remains committed to strengthening connections, creating opportunities for engagement, and ensuring our homes continue to be welcoming places where residents can thrive and communities can come together.

Together, we are building stronger communities, one connection at a time.
