Is private transportation available? Is public transportation easily accessible?
We do not provide private modes of transportation. Depending on the community there may be various options for public transportation.
Are visiting hours flexible?
Each of our communities establishes visiting hours that are flexible, hours may vary from home to home.
Are family members involved in the process of planning a resident’s care?
Most of our homes have active family councils, we encourage the development of family councils in our homes that are presently without one. Please reach out to the Home’s Life Enrichment Coordinator if you are interested in forming a Family Council.
Is the Residence able to accommodate your religious, cultural, or dietary needs?

What are the visitation rules? What procedures are required when leaving the Residence?

Can you prepare your own food?
No, we have a dedicated team of professionals that handle food service at all our homes.
Can you arrange a visit to the Residence to sample their menu?
We provide a copy of the menu cycle when tours take place.
What are the specific policies and procedures that may affect your lifestyle? (i.e. Smoking, alcoholic beverages)
Smoking is not allowed indoors at any of our homes. Residents who wish to smoke will be required to take part in a safe smoking assessment and will be further required to abide by the Smoke Free Ontario Act. Our Residents can enjoy alcoholic beverages at some of our weekly activities. Some Residents also enjoy alcoholic beverages at mealtimes or before going to bed. Please note that a doctor’s order is required and alcohol must be provided for the Resident by their family or substitute decision maker.
Is it possible to continue to receive care from your primary healthcare physician?
Our homes have their own dedicated teams of medical professionals. When you are admitted to the home your family physician will transfer your care to an in-house physician.
Does the Residence have access to specific tools and services you need? (i.e. Oxygen, scooter, electric wheelchair)
Yes, each Resident is taken care of on a need basis. We have all the necessary equipment at all our Residences.
What personal belongings are permitted at the Residence? Can you furnish your own living area?

Has the Residence received accreditation?
Our Residences in Ontario are accredited with Accreditation Canada except for five in south west Ontario that are accredited through CARF.
