A Year of Significant Growth and Milestones at Omni Quality Living

Dear Omni Family,

As 2024 draws to a close, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the incredible strides we have made together this year. This year was marked by significant growth, key achievements, and continued dedication to enhancing the quality of life for our residents across Ontario and New Brunswick. Let’s reflect on some of our most notable milestones and what they mean for our future.

Strategic Acquisitions

We started the year strong with the acquisition of Wildwood Care Centre in St. Mary’s, Ontario, a testament to our growth strategy and our commitment to providing exceptional care. This acquisition not only expanded our portfolio but also strengthened our operational excellence with the inclusion of seasoned professionals like Scott Walsh from Wildwood.

Redevelopment Successes

Our growth continued with the grand opening of Pleasant Meadow Manor in September. Thanks to our partners and the support of the Ontario government, we successfully redeveloped and expanded this residence, which now offers a modern, comfortable environment for our residents, embodying our mission to provide meaningful care environments.

In December, we officially opened Phase 2 of Almonte Country Haven. This phase included a new 32 bed home RHA with residents moving into their brand-new spaces just in time for the holidays.

This year marked the completion of Phase 1 and the start of Phase 2 at Country Terrace, with the entire project set to be completed in the first half of 2025. These developments have greatly enhanced our service capabilities. Concurrently, the construction of Village Green is progressing well, shaping up to be a state-of-the-art residence that will serve the community with both care and comfort.

All of these projects will be completed in 2025, and we will officially launch two new brand-new projects subject to necessary approvals:

  1. A brand new 256 bed home in Peterborough, Ontario
  1. A brand new 256 bed home in Brighton, Ontario

Last but not least, in July, we marked a milestone by assuming the management of five additional long-term care homes, increasing our total capacity by roughly 30%. This expansion not only broadened our geographic presence but also brought new members into the Omni family, enhancing our collective expertise and passion for care.

Enhancing Our Expertise Through Comprehensive Training and Development

In our continuous pursuit of excellence, 2024 saw significant enhancements in our employee development programs, particularly through our specialized training days. These sessions have not only bolstered our team’s capabilities but have also empowered each member to excel in their roles, ensuring that the care we provide continues to meet the high standards our residents deserve.

This year, we launched several new training modules focused on advanced care techniques, including dementia care and rehabilitation services, reflecting our commitment to both resident well-being and staff advancement. The feedback from these sessions has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am proud to see how eagerly our team has embraced these opportunities to grow professionally and personally.

Additionally, our leadership training program has been expanded to include more hands-on workshops and mentorship opportunities, preparing our future leaders to take on new challenges with confidence and skill. Watching our emerging leaders grow and take on more responsibilities has been one of the most gratifying aspects of this year.

Fostering Community and Collaboration

Our annual Forum at the Deerhurst Resort was a highlight of 2024, bringing together over 150 staff members to share insights and strengthen bonds. The forum was instrumental in fostering a collaborative culture that is critical as we continue to grow and evolve.

Our community engagement initiatives have thrived, with significant events like the Terry Fox Walk at Wildwood Care Centre and the West Lake Community Yard Sale, where we surpassed our fundraising goals. These events not only bolstered our community presence but also aligned with our mission to actively contribute to community well-being.

In recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we illuminated our New Brunswick communities in blue, a gesture to shine a light on those navigating the dementia journey, demonstrating our support and raising awareness for Alzheimer’s care.

We have continued to invest in professional development, as demonstrated by the productive summit for our Nutritional Care Managers at Sysco Peterborough. This initiative is part of our broader strategy to enhance operational excellence and ensure our residents enjoy the highest quality of life through nutritious, chef-crafted menus by our culinary teams.

Looking Ahead

As we look to 2025, we are energized by the opportunities to further enhance our offerings and deepen our impact on the communities we serve. The initiatives we have started and the projects we plan to undertake will ensure that Omni remains at the forefront of the sector, providing unparalleled care and living options.

I am profoundly thankful to each of you—our dedicated staff, our partners, and especially our residents and their families, for your trust, your commitment, and your contributions to our shared mission. Together, we are not just caring for our community; we are building it, one resident, one family, one innovation at a time.

Best wishes for a safe and healthy holiday season!

Warmest regards,
