Team Member Spotlight: Kapoor Dharamveer, a Champion of Compassion at Auberge du Soleil

Meet Kapoor Dharamveer, Evening Supervisor at Auberge du Soleil, who brings exceptional dedication and compassion to his role. Since starting as med staff in June 2023, Kapoor has made a significant impact on both residents and fellow team members. His ability to foster strong connections and promote a warm, welcoming environment exemplifies the values that define our community, and we are lucky to have him on our team.

How did you find your way to Omni Quality Living? What has your career path looked like?

I did my Bachelors of Pharmacy from India in the year 2011. Then I worked as Medical Representative, QA and QC officer in a Pharmaceutical Company, after that I switched my career to banking where I worked as a Bank Manager. I came to Canada in the year 2022 and I studied International Business Management from Northern College, Ontario. I moved to New Brunswick and was hired as Med staff at Auberge du Soleil in June 2023 and I am working happily here since then.

What does a day in your role entail? What are challenges and joys?

Everyday is different experience for me as some days I do med passes, some days I work on the floor helping residents with their daily care while other days I supervise the staff. I face different challenges daily but with the support of my team and guidance from the management all the challenges are overcome and we learn new things on a regular basis. Nothing gives me more pleasure than a resident saying “Thank you” for helping them with their needs.

How have you grown or what have you learned since joining Omni Quality Living?

I started as a Med staff when I joined this esteemed organization in June 2023. My hard work and work ethics were appreciated by the management and I was promoted as a Supervisor in April 2024. I have learnt that Omni is a place where your hard work and efforts do not go unnoticed.

Can you share a memorable moment or achievement with your team?

We had a pharmacy transition in July 2023. The new Medication pass procedures were quite different from the older ones. But due to our dedicated nursing staff, the transition was done very smoothly and we now have a very highly effective Medication pass procedure in practice. In my opinion, it was a big achievement for everyone here at Auberge.

How do you connect with our residents?

I love to talk to our residents and listen to them. I feel like they are not living with their families here and sometimes feel lonely. By talking to them, I get to know their likes and dislikes which help me in guiding the staff in how to approach the resident and how to take better care of them.

How do you contribute to fostering an inclusive environment at Omni Quality Living?

I try to embrace the learning opportunities that I get. I also listen to staff working at every level. I recognize my coworkers for their strengths and if some things are not in line with the documented procedures or policies, I talk with them about it and re-educate them. This all is done to achieve the exceptional level of care for our residents and their safety as well.

What are you looking forward to or aiming to achieve in your role?

I am looking forward to enhance my knowledge and skills at the workplace and grab on to any opportunity that is provided to me by this esteemed organization.
